National Health Insurer: Databricks Lakehouse for IFRS 17

The challenge

A national health insurer was running actuarial, claims and finance on three disconnected estates: Oracle OBIEE for finance, a legacy SAS warehouse for actuarial, and SQL Server for claims analytics. IFRS 17 disclosure required a single source of truth and a unified data model — the legacy stack could not produce the new disclosures on time.
